I have done this before and I'll see if it works as well as last time!!!

Ask have been bloody slow on picking up my new site -and I get hits from Ask -so I have paid a one off $25.00 for a PPC Campaign.

I'll let you know if it speeds up indexing

I am currently chasing a little PPC also....hosting company ponied up 75$ Adwords coupon, 50$ MSN, and 50$ Yahoo.

Been about a week......

I'm new to PPC so I'm in the learning curve....BUT

Same campaign for all...

Yahoo
28,338 Impressions | 128 Clicks  | $25.81 Total Cost | .20 Average CPC

Adwords
61,391 Impressions | 4 Clicks | $.89 Total Cost  | $.22 Average CPC

MSN
31,614 Impressions | 15 Clicks | $6.28 Total Cost | $.42 Average CPC

Just informational, I am learning as I go here.

Well I'm cheating a bit more than that -I'm using Mamma.com in the USA -which is Teoma -which in turn is Ask - I doubt if I will get any clicks as I've headed it up as UK Shared Ownership Smiley

Cunning swine

I'd be interested to see the results, although its difficult to gauge unless you tried it on a new site that was'nt indexed and did not have a single link pointing to it.

I seriously doubt it will have any effect.

Well I did it.

Site is fairly new (went live 6/1/2007), not indexed by Ask....but has 769 backlinks

So we'll see what happens....worth 25 bucks to me to test this theory.

Thats the problem though, Ask is one of the slowest search engines to index a site anyway, so your test is already flawed as you already have natural links for ask to follow.

To accurately gauge whether using a PPC campaign will get you indexed in that particular search engine you'd need a clean site with NO natural links.

Thinking logically its not in the PPC side of the search engines interest to get their customers sites indexed and ranking....

Ash - put www.sharedownershipmortgages.org.uk into ASK -it ain't there.

Then search Right to Buy on www.mamma.com - but don't click on my ppc ad please - it's been there for 4 years -all on the original $25.00

About the same time as I have been top on Ask for the same term.

Me marketer -you SEO - Cool  Cool  Cool  Capice

I care not for the links....that aren't being followed by Ask anyways.

I just want to see if this will get the page indexed fairly quickly...or at all

as all else except outright bribery have failed....

Ask sucks, but customers don't know that  Shocked

So indexing in this stupid Internet bandwidth spending waste of space...becomes necessary

Yes quote me ASK.COM sucks!

The point that some people forget is why we have websites. I love reading technical threads on this that and the other, but Baby and I like to think 'outside the box' -you see $25.00 is neither here nor there -it's loose change in an old pair of levi's that you forgot you had. Now to a poor man $25.00 is the difference between eating and not - I know that - but in order to get the $25.00 in the first place -you have to speculate it - the guy who's broke and needs the $25.00 probably pissed it up the wall when he had it. If my $25.00 gets one early hit from Ask -I'm up $2,500.00

This is too quick to "probably" be a result of any PPC.

But I have a page in ASK's index!!!  Cheesy

http://www.ask.com/web?q=seocog&search=&qsrc=0&o=0&l=dir

Just a post page, but it wasn't there yesterday.

Odd really.

Ask have been over my new blog, less than a week old, with 24 hits, last visit 74 minutes ago. But my TV blog, which does very nicely in google,....well Ask haven't been since July 27th and I'm not in their index.

I can't work them out!

And MSN?Huh?? Well I rank in Live for some nice phrases and only 29 visitors so far this month, Yahoo 26, compared to 1,663 from Google...so far this month

Does anyone really use these other search engines?

And 1 from a search engine called Earth Link....
