Hi everyone

My first post, but David knows about it so I am OK!

I'm a British writer in Italy and I am now ( along story!) in charge of online marketing for top UK ghostwriter Andrew Crofts' new novel The Overnight Fame of Steffi McBride.http://www.steffimcbride.com out in September. It's aimed at 16 - 30 year old women who like celebs, X Factor, that kind of thing!

I am trying to get very creative as I have only a short time to get the word out and so I am trying to use the best of web 2.0 and get people (particularly the target audience) involved. I hope that the marketing will mirror the book's theme of overnight success! My ideas so far are a viral marketing film competition to get young film makers involved, a songwriting contest, reviewers for the book (I'd like some well connected - online - young reviewers and writers) , an interview with Andrew, possibly a Second Life character... Steffi already has a facebook page and some friends on there!

So my question to you is this - any more ideas for me? Would anyone like to enter the competitions or know anyone of the right age and demographic who would? I am already writing to forums and websites about films in Uk and abroad as we want Steffi to go global!

Because Andrew has done lots of ghostwriting for real celebs there will be a lot of press interest so it could be a good launching pad for some creative people.

As this is an experiment for me in internet marketing (although I know quite a bit about it), then I would welcome your feedback.

Thanks in advance
Fiona
