We've got a bit of money set aside and we want to set up a shop. We've done the costings, we've found the shop, checked how much it'll cost to run per year, factored in how much turn over we need, how much we want to spend on advertising and doing up the shop, tills, PRS licence etc. but were stuck on finding suppliers for the shop we want to launch.  Anyone here have good places to look for suppliers?  Right now i'm calling everyone on Yell.com to see if i can get a hit and so far we have found bugger all.  Anyone have any other good ideas?

What will you be selling in your shop? If it's electricals I know a few decent wholesalers.... Also try "Trader Magazine" available in Smiths, has everything from cheap jewelery, electricals, gifts, clothing to market/car boot wares. Macro might be worth a look aswell.

well i'm trying to find suppliers for console games, accessories and console units.  So far i've found suppliers for accessories.  The rest is a bit harder.  I may have found a supplier for the units but i think there U.S. units so are no good for the U.K.  Right now after a week searching online for suppliers we've changed our initial run up to christmas plans from consoles to a value shop selling pocket money priced toys, seasonal goods and other related stuff that we know sells well(my wifes worked in a shop like this for 8 years so we know the market much better than consoles anyway).  If the shop does better than expected we may stick with it or revisit the idea of a console shop when we have suppliers.  In the meantime we can still get hold of the console controllers etc. so we will probably include them as a stocked line.  So much to do in next 2 weeks(I'm hoping we move into the shop on 1st of november giving us 7 weeks trading up to christmas.  With all the christmas stock we'll be ordering in I think we should be rolling in it christmas day Cheesy.  P.S. we are having a few problems with our server, hence why all my sites are down, its a troubling time to be sure Sad.

You probably already have used them, but cpc[dot]co[dot]uk sometimes have some similar lines in their monthly offers, and they're quick with delivery.... Most of the usual stuff there isn't the greatest prices but when they run offers or clearance on some lines there are bargains to be had. (thats why I've got so much tat in my spare room)...

Have you looked at drop ship places? Might do a search for that.

I used to know of a couple of wholesalers.

www.mxwholesale.co.uk was one i think, seem to recall them doing v.cheap Everready batteries.

Another was based in Wales, but can't remember them off hand.
