Simon - these offers are all very well and good - but Who in their right minds takes any notice of high PR Sites and Alexa??
Alexa is a rip off - it's as much use as an ashtray on a motorbike - PR well please read this http://www.clickz.com/showPage.html?page=3518646
For $360 pa there are thousands of different solutions for getting quality links to point at your site.
And for Alexa please read this http://www.mattcutts.com/blog/thoughts-on-alexa-data/

Sorry to be harsh, I have known you a long time - it's just that this forum is not going down the same old route as others.

Well David, PR does have a part to play if you are looking to sell links.

For example, mine and Yourwebs directory project would find it alot easier to sell listings if we had a homepage of PR5 and a spread of PR across the other internal pages.

That said i would'nt pay $30 a month for any link, others do and will though.

Mate I know this and you know this but people still want to buy links

High pr links do increase other sites PR (i know this because one of my sites jumped from pr0 to pr4 when I had a burf.com link to it)

People want to increase their PR and so I offer a service.

Guys can I really be blunt ? Well I'm going to be any way - the only and I mean the ONLY times that PR is useful to your site are
1 - if someone uses Google Directory to search with.
2 - Selling a site to a third party who is gullible enough to believe that that little green bar is anything other than a gimmick.

Agreed David, but if they want to believe it, let them.

On one forum i was offering people free listings on my directory that would normally cost the $50 if in return they link to the site from a page that is indexed by Google (ie not a worthless link page that is'nt linked to their main site)

They bounced me out of there, why? because my site did'nt have any PR.

Imagine what their reaction would have been if i'd announced i'm selling links on a PR0 site for $50 for a lifetime!

Yes there are bad forums out there - but we can rise above that - if we get new posters buying links via a moderator that turn out to be crap IBL's then it is This forum that will suffer - we deal in facts.

Fact One - Google maintains it's IBL's on a rotation basis - you can suddenly see a quality IBL show up from some thing you submitted 4 years ago.
TWO - Quality links on Google are essential - so submitting to a source that relies on two crap reference points are hardly likely to endear you to Google.

Yes - a Link is a link - and google is more interested in to whom you link back to and may discount the source  - but from what I have been reading - then that may well change shortly.

David, you maybe true in what you say but you are missing one thing (my old friend)

90% of the people I met are interested in PR rating.  Whatever you may say  and what ever proof you have.  You cant win this

Go to to forum like warrior or digital (fairly clued up people and above) and try and sale a PR6 link and a PR3 link.  Even if the details are the same meaning you dont mention any traffic except saying it is a PR6 and a PR3.  The PR6 will sale like hotcakes

I sold about 10 PR6 links on Burf.com in about 1 day.  I also get emails from people saying that their site is now indexed and how happy they are or that their site jumped up on PR.  Yes this could be unrelated to buy a link, but I think not.  Too many people seem to still be buying links!

I agree that if you think it will hurt the forum, then do not have a link section
