I am using the free version, which I thought I read that it did not have to have the copy write.

I am getting ready to upgrade to the $75 version soon.

Unfortunately not... all versions require link back; the paid version of the script is $25 and to remove the backlink from either is (if i remember rightly) $75...

Thank you kindly ctabuk.

sabian1982 I guess I will have to upgrade this weekend then, but I could of sworn that I read that the copy write could be removed.  Either way I will upgrade.  Thanks for the tip.

sabian1982,

You had me all freaked out.  I take license and what not pretty seriously and I normally go by the book.  That said I had to download v2.1.2 again to see why I thought I could modify the application by removing the copy write.

phpLD-2.1.2 was released under GNU GENERAL PUBLIC LICENSE, which if I understand it correctly means I can modify it and do just about whatever I want with it..... Even repackage it and resell it.

At least this that was my understanding of what I have read about GNU.  Like I said in my last reply I am going to upgrade.  There is just way too much functionality missing in 2.1.2 and it will be worth the money spent on the upgrade.

I just hope the upgrade will be easy.

Is my understanding of GNU correct?

GNU licence, you should be able to do pretty much anything as long as you suposedly share any changes you have made with the community.  That was my understanding, i.e. if you add a checkout widget to a GNU shopping cart, its generally good cricket to share the widget with the rest of the community so others can take advantage of it, and also so that if its suitable it can be included in the next version of the software.  If theres a later version they have not released under GNU i hope they started from scratch with the basecode etc. as they could be in murky water there with 3rd party code under GNU that doesnt belong to them.

Thats my understanding of GNU anyways Smiley

The nice thing is now I have some PR on some internal pages.  Some of the pages are 3 deep.
