Directory Software?

I have been thinking about setting up a directory specialising in showcasing good css designed websites a bit like cssbased.com and cssvault.com. I was wondering if anyone knows if there is any off the shelf directory software that would help me setup and run this or would wordpress do it with the help of a few plugin's? or would I be best coding this up from scratch to my own requirements (a fair bit of work).
