Hi all,

This is a question whis is often discussed but keeps coming up every now and again. (not sure if this is the best place for this thread so feel free to move it if necessary).

on many sites and directories, one hovers over a link on the links page and see's the link location as...

http://www.host-website-or-directory.com/redirect.php?action=links&goto=34

an indirect link, which then redirects to the website being linked to.

...and on many other websites and directories we see...

http://www.website.com

a direct link.

So, the questions are....

Do indirect links get spidered the same way as direct links?

Does the anchor text on an indirect link have the same whammy as a direct link?

Personally I'm not too bothered about whether or not PR get passed, but, Does page rank get shared the same way with indirect links as it does with direct links?

Three age old questions for y'all.

Thanks in advance.

I don't believe they do. On the other hand I can see that there might be no difference with this.

I believe that the links will get spidered and count as backlinks.

I'm not sure on whether or not any anchor text would count.

Yes Ash is right the links get spidered and count as backlinks. But indirect links dosen't pass any PR.

The PR goes to the site that brings the redirect link?
So site.tld/link.php?..eg.vv3455 gives the PR to site.tld/link.php
