Hey guys

I have been busy building links for my site using a number of methods (listed below) but i am begining to run low on motivation and indeed ideas to get more links in. Perhaps some of you wise ones could give me some additional ideas.

So far i have:

1. Written and submitted articles
2. Had 1250 good quality directory submissions done
3. Via various webmaster forums exchanged severval hundred 3 way links
4. Approached suitable partners for links exchange (poor results due to the nature of the business)
5. Used forum sig links

The site is:  www.finessecasinos.co.uk

I would be grateful of any input you guys might have, i really want to push this site all the way!

Have you contacted customers/clients who you've worked for and asked them to link from their sites? Have you used Yahoo site explorer to check out competitors links?

The bulk of our clients would not be able to provide us links as they tend to be big corporate types (hotel chains the like). I have begun analysing competitors links and have already started approaching said sites for links, so yeah, im on top of that, but i can see its going to be an incredibly long and slow process.

Yeah man! It is! There are other options for someone in as difficult a link building situation as yours. How about buying up old casino domains and 301 redirecting them to your site? PM me if you want more details about this as its an area im currently researching. Ill do a post on here about it soon.

Try thinking laterally, as in contacting companies who do the same thing as you but in the states, so swapping links with them wont threaten either of your businesses. I have a lot of success when targeting US webmasters for my UK only clients. These are mostly reciprocal link exchanges but if you know what youre doing you can get one thats a bit better than what you give back *wink*.

Also, how about making it a requirement of clients that, if possible, they link to your site? It may seem a bit dramatic but with a company like yours you're going to have to become a hardcore link builder. Make out that it's a small thing before you get the job then hassle them for the link when the jobs finished.

Heres a few more links that you might find useful:

Hey mattinertia

Thanks for that, i actually started contacting US fun casino companies last week, i thought i would start with 20 and see what response i got, so far only 1 reply and they would only offer a poor directory link. Perhaps i will look at contacting more like 100 see if i get a more favourable response.

Thanks for the links, i will read through them over the next few days.

With regards the old casino domains, im not sure what you mean by that, so i will drop you a pm, thanks

Hi,

I have a couple of suggestions...

Firstly, I would pay for a few press releases to announce your business and the services you offer. An immediate benefit would be back-links to the site, but secondly, press releases get picked up and published on various sites so hopefully it will also mean more back-links and visitors to the site over the long-term.

Secondly, I would think outside the box and contact other potential venues for hosting these casino theme nights. You mentioned hotels, but how about approaching smaller players such as restaurants, bars and clubs? With Christmas coming up I'm sure you'll be able to drum up some business this way. Also, most of these businesses will have websites of their own and might be able to link to your site.

Hope that helps,
Tony
