I like quotes! The wittier the better! What quotes/mantras/proverbs/biblical passages do you like?

1. There are two rules to life... 1. Don't tell people everything that you know. (dunno)

2. The future belongs to those that believe in the beauty of their dreams (Eleanor Roosevelt)

3. Only two things are infinite, the universe and human stupidity and I'm not sure about the universe. (Albert Einstein)

From my book 'The best of men cannot suspend their fate - the good die early and the bad die late'

Daniel Defoe

Also from my book

The last recorded words of The Duke of Monmouth before his execution

“Here are six guineas for you and do not hack me as you did my Lord Russell.  I have heard you struck him four or five times; If you strike me twice, I cannot promise you not to stir.”

See - I told you it was violent period - it was at least seven blows with a dull axe  Shocked

Dr Strangelove! I googled it admittedly but it did ring a bell!

Who said this “A sharp tongue is the only edge tool that grows keener with constant use.”?

Oscar! He's come out with some great lines...

By giving us the opinions of the uneducated, journalism keeps us in touch with the ignorance of the community.

Eleanor Roosevelt is one of my favourites...

The purpose of life is to live it, to taste experience to the utmost, to reach out eagerly and without fear for newer and richer experience.

I have a massive quote file in my favourites  - How about this from George Bush

If America shows weakness and uncertainty, the world will drift toward tragedy. That will not happen on my watch.

There are a number of quotes that I like, among them Mark Twain's "Golf is a good walk spoiled."

There's one quote by yours truly that I hope my son will abide by during the course of his life:

"Always do the right thing, even if it's not the most popular thing."

Of course, he doesn't turn three until November so he's not big on following through on that right now  Smiley
