'Nip down the chippy Hench, and get me four penniworth of chips'

Now them were the days - fourpence would get you on to a bus, beer was 1 shilling and sixpence a pint - fags cost 3shillings and sixpence AND you got coupons to save up for a respirator. Durex were 3shillings and 9pence - aye lad, you could have a right good night out on a quid and get laid as a bargain.
