How Many Search engine Exists over internet ?

Hi Guys,
I am looking for loooonnnggg list of search engines. I  was wondering how many Search Engines Actually exist over the internet. I have read so many articles and also on blog that there are more then 2000 search engines and SEO company will submit for you. I don’t think that’s true. I have search over internet and fond so many address containing search engine List but in that list you will find web directories also. Like on these address:

There are 6,249.5 search engines on the internet. The .5 is for MSN - they're not a real search engine just yet

Actually, I don't know how man SE's are on the internet. But you will find that a great many of the SE's get their base results from Inktomi (Yahoo) and Google.
